I am glad that BK Sir decided to dedicate a page to the students whose lives he has touched as an advisor, mentor and instructor. To put things in perspective, I would like to start with the year 1979 when our batch (1980 graduates) started on the research for our thesis. BK Sir served as an advisor for four students - Suman Kalra, Rachna Bhatnagar, Gargi Majumdar and myself (Anugrah Tewari). Interestingly all four of us picked research topics that were very new to the department and that kept us and Sir working extra long hours. I clearly remember the day we finally had a flame retardant finish that seem to work after several days of unsuccessful attempts. Rachna and I were in the lab and Sir had finally left after a long day when we realized that one of the formulations for a flame retardant finish worked. We were so excited that we ran and caught up with Sir near Hansa Mehta Hall to share the news with him. He decided to return to the lab to see the results. I admire the dedication of the faculty in the department at that time and give credit to them for making a difference in the lives of many students. I personally got interested in textiles research because of the faculty in Baroda. I also remember Miss Pundit inviting us to her home for dinner after we learnt about Indian Textiles. We enjoyed seeing her collection of sarees after enjoying Dhansak for dinner. Those were great days that I very fondly remember. Over the years I have enjoyed keeping in touch with the department. I really enjoyed my short visit to Baroda this year. Ma'am Anjali's cooking and hospitality was really great. I am happy that I will be able to access some of her recipes through the website.

Its great to learn that BK Sir has come up with this page, specially dedicated to his students.
I was his student and did my dissertation work under him in the year 1999. I am glad that i got that opportunity to research under his guidance. My topic was new that time, still not much we hear about that, it was "Eco-Labelling for Textiles and its awareness amongst Manufacturers, Retailers and Consumers". From my side till date I try to check whether awareness has increased, but its still same, no one is aware about it and its a sad state.
Presentely i am working but not in that field, but I wish to work in that direction more, it can be any work research or voluntary. I would be happy to join any movement working towards that. If anyone has an idea about any such work going on anywhere, than please feel free to contact me at sharmarach@rediffmail.com
And Sir, when i look back I feel proud of that dissertation I did, though i never got any reward or appreciation for that work, but it still makes me feel good that I got chance to work under your guidance and I feel proud to say BK Sir was my guide. I am always closely following your this website it makes me feel that I am in touch with you.
