Spicy but not Hot

Having two kids, I regularly read Minnesota Parent magazine. I was skimming through the July 2008 issue when a particular article caught my eye :"The Spice Queen comes to your kitchen" - the title boldy said and splashed on the top was a nice picture of two of the main Indian spices : Paprika and Turmeric. Since these two spices are featured on CurryUp's logo, it was natural that my attention was immediately drawn towards it.

Its a nice article and features the Next Food Network Star Finalist - Nipa Bhatt. It was a pleasant surprise since Nipa is an active member of the Indian community and a frequent visitor at CurryUp. CONGRATULATIONS, Nipa! CurryUp wishes you all the best! If there is any way we can help, please ask!

The MN Parent article is a pretty good read. It gives a little bit of Nipa's background and talks about how she exposes her kids to various cultures via food. Indeed food is an integral part of any culture! The most important part, in my mind, was how she explains the difference between Spicy vs. Hot. This is a very important difference that we, at CurryUp, constantly emphasize about flavorful Indian food. Indian food is not necessarily hot. It can be. But more importantly, it is spicy-flavorful than spicy-hot - a key quality of CurryUp food that has so many raving fans. The article elaborates on how to make this happen in your kitchen! Be sure to read the article.

The piece ends with what looks like a yummy recipe for Nipa Bhatt's Indian Ground Pork kabobs/sausages . She suggests that you could replace the meat with Turkey and Chicken too - something I am looking forward to preparing!

Thanks, Nipa and MN Parent for carrying the article! We wish you the best!
