Critic Rick Nelson calls CurryUp buffet a "minor miracle"

In his latest critique, well-known Food critic Rick Nelson raves about CurryUp Buffet in Startribune's Taste section:

Generally I'm not a lunch buffet guy, but the noon-hour lineup at CurryUp might be a game-changer. At first glance it's your basic steam-table setup, with maybe a dozen options in the chicken- or vegetable-stew/rice/condiments range. But there's a difference. This all-you-can-eat actually tastes like something (OK, the naan had been steamed into staleness, but a friendly complaint brought an immediate replacement), a minor miracle given the $6.99 price tag. Even the chutneys popped with animated flavor.

There's an extensive counter-service chalkboard menu, equally bargain-priced; my tender, chicken-filled dosa arrived in a flash and was delicious. I loved my after-dinner Altoids replacement, a few chews on a betel leaf garnished with coconut, candied fennel and rosewater syrup, an awfully refreshing way to spend a buck. Oh, and on the way out, it's impossible not to browse the aisles of CurryUp's spotless, nicely stocked Indian grocery store. Yeah, I need to get to Arbor Lakes more often.
