What is Freelancer Friday?

Freelancer Friday is a regular event hosted by http://cocomsp.com a pioneering Coworking/Collaboration/Colocation space in St Paul, MN. I was there along with my friend - Ketan, CEO of Small World Solution, Inc. and my partner-in-curry at http://curryupfoods.com. Got to meet other freelancers and mavericks - experts in their own fields and got to share the challenges we are facing now and how we could help each other achieve success. Great stories and suggestions - and already we are seeing positive results from that discussion!

Really liking Plantronics Discovery bluetooth set

Just wanted to let people know that I am very happy with both the performance and ergonomics of this Plantronics Discovery 975 bluetooth headset. I use it with my iPhone.

What do I like?

  • Great performance.
    • Sound quality is excellent for me and the other party.
    • Long enough talk and standby charge.
    • Great distance range. It really liberated me from the tether, so to speak. No wires is a blessing once you experience it.
    • Audio feedback - on, off, beeps - all help you give you feedback without annoying you too much.
  • Design and Engineering
    • Controls are very intelligently designed. Minimalistic but very humanely engineered. Its a great exemplar for user-centric design.
    • Very light. It is easy to forget you have it on.
    • The charger box is functional and very endearing. I have fondled the box - and found joy.

Cons

  • The ear-gel piece can be a bit irritating. I cannot keep it on for more than couple hours at a time. Personal thing I guess.
  • Putting on, takes some adjusting - but eventually I got used to it. It fits better on my right ear than left ear - so go figure . Must be how my ear is shaped.
